Reading the Traffic Log

The Traffic log records all network traffic, such as web sites that you visit.

§       The Time is the date and time that Net Defense logged the event.

§       The Action is the action that Net Defense took — Allowed or Blocked.

§       The Direction is the direction that the traffic moves. If traffic moves into your computer, it is Inbound. If traffic moves out of your computer, it is Outbound.

§       The Protocol is the type of protocol used in the attempted attack — ICMP, TCP, or UDP.

§       The Local IP is your computer’s Internet protocol address.

§       The Local Port is the port your computer used for this traffic.

§       The Remote Host is the other computer’s IP address.

§       The Remote Port is the virtual port that the remote system used.

§       The Application Involved is the name and path of the program involved in the logged event.
